Writers try to sell things. I am not going to dox my friend (who used to post fairly regularly - huge O and A fan from waaaay back) but he is in a position to help writers who are trying to sell things they have written or would like to write. People like agents, publishers, and producers also use social media. People who have accomplished more with their lives than a certain writer can ever even hope for think it’s pretty funny when you call them a loser or a child or a Nazi, or brag about how much money you make, or how famous you are because of a minor difference in opinion. It makes them laugh. It makes everyone in the building laugh when you become an inside joke for at least two years running now. I’m keeping it as vague as I can. Eventually two and two were put together, and my friend and I realized that the guy you were all making fun of is the same dude. He has no idea what kind of opportunity he blew. In hindsight the person involved is glad they passed. It became evident rather quickly that a certain writer is mentally unstable, and while he possesses a sliver of talent, it’s true, he is lazy, sloppy, and derivative. It was best for everyone that he did not receive this opportunity. He blew the biggest opportunity he will ever get because he was nasty and called a staunch true liberal, and an American patriot, a bunch of childish names because he thinks he’s a keyboard warrior. Can you imagine if Christopher Nolan wanted to read your screenplay? And he looked you up on social media and you called him a hack? Because you didn’t know who it really was? Imagine that.

Yes. It was discussed on the other sub. It’s hard to explain without rambling on too long. Let’s just say someone in a position to help a writer looked up a certain writer on social media. Had a brief interaction with him and was called childish names because of a mild disagreement. Imagine if you are a writer trying to publish a book or sell a screenplay or find a literary agent and exactly the person you would dream to work with says something that mildly disagrees with one of your statements. You call someone like Christopher Nolan a hack and brag about how famous you are and how poor he is - all because you don’t know who you’re talking to. A friend of mine had an interaction like that with a certain writer that everyone here likes to make fun of. It took us a while to realize it was the same guy. This friend of mine hasn’t posted here in a long time, but he is a very old-school Opie and Anthony fan and posted on the old sub infrequently. This has become somewhat of an inside joke but then this person’s, I will say, agency. It’s not an agency. But you get the idea. He’s a joke. Rather literally.

I really wish I knew more about this, but I'm content knowing that he is hated by industry people who could help his career. From day one of this asshole entering this sub's orbit I have wondered how he has any friends or people who tolerate him professionally. It's just nonstop vitriol and preening narcissism all day, every day from him. I cannot wait until his newest book bombs.

It's really just a small corner of a very large field that he would like to be a player in. Let's not forget - he's a huge nobody. Two different places I saw lists of Sci-Fi writers with thousands of names on it... and no sign of him. Some of the most obscure writers are on that list, but not him. It's incredible, the justice of him pissing away a chance he will never get again (with his HISTORY of a lack of sales) just because he was incapable of having even a shred of humility or humanity and because he treats people like shit. Well, if it makes you feel any better, the only parts you don’t have the details for is who my friend is and what “industry” he works in. As far as his interaction with a certain angry writer, you’ve seen it 1 million times already. It’s the same thing, he treats everybody the same way. If you disagree with him at all on anything, you deviate one percent from what he thinks you should believe, he’s going to throw sweet summer child bullshit at you, brag about how famous he is, talk about his six-figure income, etc. That’s what he did. Only, one time, he did it to someone who was checking out his social media before contacting him with regards to a project. It’s like blowing a job interview before the interview.
