Too many copies of Anthony's book were printed (they had anticipated a bestseller I guess).
Sales were anemic so heaps of brand new copies were sold to storehouses that sell the book instead. Publishers don't have the warehouse space for all those unsold books so they sell their extra copies to other parties who will then try to sell them.
That's usually how it goes and I think it happened with Anthony's book.

Remember when we noticed most of Anthony's books on Amazon were remaindered copies? They were the overstock that the publisher couldn't sell. Same thing will happen here.
