I don't know why else you'd own animals that have no personality and don't even move for the most part. I got a plastic aquarium given to me one time so I got 2 goldfish. My cat scooped them out and ate one and just killed the other one and left it on the floor and I was like "Good. Fuck those fish."

I ended up getting aquatic frogs for a little bit and then one day I came home pissed off and fired my keys through the side of the aquarium and just left it outside until the water evaporated and there was no trace of the frogs.

I used to live in a place with a pond so frogs would just show up naturally, but then they either fuck off somewhere or get eaten by a dog or something.

I'm not interested in owning an aquarium, but I at least get it on an aesthetics level. Owning a lizard makes you a questionable person.
