If you put out a shitty product people are going to say something. They just want your money/view/follow/like and then you can fuck off.
People are more concerned about their fake online scores then caring about their audience. Remember when it was called an audience instead of an ego inflating term like "follower"? Most of these get rich quick on the internet have no idea or just dont care how to manage their brand.
Just like they used the internet to get their message out, so is everyone else.
