I don't really have any interest in defending Louis, but he lost more money than Margaret Cho has made in her entire career. He suffered. You know who else suffers from this jealous sanctimony? People who just want to go watch Louis do a set, but now far less successful comedians have their pitchforks out to try and prevent it.
Louis already circumvented most of the industry when he started selling his specials and awful Horace and Pete on his website. I would not be surprised if he starts renting out venues and selling tickets on his own. Bypass comedy clubs and the industry people and just do comedy that way.
