We have time for both Samcro Joe and Sam, Sam does deserve some more negative attention I agree and I've been doing my bit for da show. He's the one who I truly loathed while it was on air and was a massive contributor to the decline in quality and end of O&A. I hate that disgusting little 'man'. (reminder: he had to use HGH to actually be a man, without 21st century medicine he'd be a 4-foot, dick-less literal child still)

Joe, like many retards, has a false pride that will never allow them to admit fault. This sub has had thousands of diverse, educated people explain exactly what Joe's weaknesses are. Josh Fonner talked to him for 45 minutes. It's a multi-year counseling session that Joe has learned nothing from. It's like a failed reality show experiment, testing how stupid one man can be.

The problem with Joe is his actions are Ego-Syntonic; that is; he finds his outrageous, embarassing, and dangerous neglectful treatment of his kids & mooching as perfectly okay. This is why he rarely actually tries to defend himself, but attacks the people leveling accusations and looks for pity/sympathy instead of showing remorse. He's probably not that he's a sociopath or a narcissist, it's that he's perfectly fine with being a scumbag because he sees it as part of who he is, and that's okay. ("wouldn't you all take hand-outs from your brother" is a good example of this). He thinks his behavior - if not normal - is acceptable and even admirable. Joe is a good example of someone who had poor boundaries, social skills and expectations in childhood and never really learned how to act - and more importantly - how to socialize with peers and learn from his mistakes. His problem is his low tolerance to criticism, lack of self-awareness (metacognition), a low IQ and unwillingness to take social cues and change. Over time he's become worse and worse; he never thinks to reflect. Never changes. It's always other peoples' fault, not his.
If someone is ego-dystonic about certain behaviours they react with cognitive dissonance; genuine remorse, are embarrassed, they feel as if they're behavior "isn't them". Joe is the opposite. If you slam him on here he'll hold up his failures as if they're a triumph. He cannot absorb the negative criticism because to him it's not negative. The way he acts - and we make fun of him - he finds those values, that behavior - acceptable. As a child his dysfunctional family was 'normal'. That behavior has become ego-syntonic with Joe. He doesn't feel bad about the things he should feel bad about.
