I guess if he's getting paid to be away from his crazy wife, I can't blame the guy. The embarassment of performing stand-up before a Metallica show...that's a whole new low. I think he also gets to sing a few songs with them too. I don't really know or care, but Metallica sucked ass 15 years ago I saw them at a festival.
When you hit your commercial career peak 20 to 25 years ago and you’re 50 years old with kids, a mortgage and an estranged wife to support, a paying gig is a paying gig. If it happens to be with a band you love, then why the fuck not? When you’re like 50, you know you’re not the next Carlin or Pryor. You’ve got about 10 years left at most of prime earning. You better have your money saved, so pick up every check you can and have fun.
All valid points. Again, no shame in earning a living, something mooJoe wouldn't know a out. Hahaha his peak was goat boy and sounding high when not doing goat boy.
I remember the interview they gave on this. They claimed the problem was not loss of sales, but downloading an individual song removed it from the context of the album and as artists they didn't want to see their work being mismanaged. If couse they still had no problem releasing singles and music videos.
This must have been after the backlash they got from the Internet when they were one of the few shitty bands complaining about loss of income due to file-sharing. Jay-Z claimed this as his primary reason he dislikes file sharing and came up with his own service to download his new garbage, but I don't think he really understands what he's talking about.
Jim doesn't hate Big Jay. He just thought it was funny that Jay slept in and missed an interview with Mark Cuban. He said there was no way he would wake of for the Jim and Sam show. It was a safe bet.

What about Jim Florentine and Jim Breuer? They've always been "the rock/metal comic". Doesn't Breuer open for Metallica?
Jim hosted Ozzy's roast, hosted The Juggalo convention (whatever the fuck it's called), and Sharon makes him believe Ozzy remembers him?
I think the reason why Jimmy hates Gay Oinkerson is something more pathetic and gay.

And those washed up has-beens think Napster is what did them in. Hell, they're one of the main reasons we have the DMCA.

Let’s not forget that he hosted a metal show for years alongside Eddie Trunk who was, and still is, a “Bon Jovi fan since day one.”

Jim is hardly a rock/metal comic. He loves Kiss & Sabbath and that’s it. He’s pretty ignorant about every other band.

He's also the polar opposite of whatever cheesy "rock badass" cliche he's going for. He's a malnourished 5'1 beta incel.
That's why this is so offensive to me.

in typical autist fashion, Jim has 100% knowledge of a very thin slice of some subject, but then 0% knowledge of anything similar or ancillary.

Also loving Kiss to actual rock/metal fans is like thinking the play Cats is the greatest musical ever to real Broadway fans.

Dean Delray is known as the metal comic and he's only been doing it for like five years.

Nobody knows who that is
