According to the message we got from Reddit legal, they just remove content as soon as they get a notice and don't bother investigating whether the claim is bullshit. Joe (and trolls) have learned this and are using it trying to get this place banned and users susoended. It's extremely unfair to the subs/users and more people need to respond to their DMCAs and fight them.

....you're allowed to quote stuff for the purposes of discussion; it's called "Fair Use".
If you do a quick search for "Joe Cumia", DMCA and Kiwifarms; you'll get the text of their admin's reply to Joe's DMCA - in short, he says it's for the purposes of criticism and as such Joe can kick rocks. That's a valid defence against a DMCA, but it does usually require breaking anonymity.
Can you ask legal how I can get in touch with them, as I'd like to know exactly how many baseless DMCA requests I would have to fill out to take out certain subreddits.
Let's just take a minute to marvel at the fact that you can just tell a multi-million dollar arm of the Conde Nast conglomerate to just shut down a wing of their business, and they'll do it without question - you don't even have to show ID.
Fuck shareholder value, some guy using the name of someone who's barred for life from the site said we re-published three lines of something he posted on the site earlier, and even though we have explicit written permission from the author to publish it, we're going to lop off a whole chunk of our business rather than put nine seconds of thought into it.
I read a while ago in one of reddit's transparency reports that they did reject frivolous DMCA's. It talked about an instance where someone had posted a picture of Home Depot (or something) and reddit deemed it fair use even though it was DMCA'd.
