There's truth to this. Hot girls hate being ignored and if you're around the same one long enough (like at work or something) it will slowly drive them to distraction, regardless of how hapless or hideous you might be. And if you pay a lot of attention to the fourth or fifth hottest girl they'll begin to hate her too.
It's only girls who deny this simple fact of life because they (rightfully) feel pathetic for being so predictable and petty. I have hooked up with the hottest coworkers who would have been overjoyed to publicly shoot me down if I approached them the typical way. Ignoring them and complimenting uglier broads loudly in front of everyone will demoralize them, and then there comes that one moment where they think they have no chance to catch your eye, and you just give them some tiny form of daddy's long lost appreciation for 1 second, and then you have their hot little soul in the palm of your hand.
