I listen to a lot of the old shows and fez was right on all of them. BL, Mikey D, Paul O, they were all trying to move in during his breakdown years. They disguised it as help or tough love but in reality they wanted to get Fez’s spot on air or income. Fez was just in such tough shape mentally that he made himself seem paranoid

Well maybe not necessarily a actual replacement but he kept trying to get paid for his calls into the show. Particularly when Ron was doing the bit of trying to get Fez to buy his mansion. I don’t think Paul O was ever considered by Ron as a potential replacement. But the bit they were running of Paul O being a life coach is something I’m sure Paul O actually thought was serious thing

Ronnie had the option of retiring like Fezzie, or doing a couple of well-paid shows that no-one listens to on the only station in the world that doesn't collect ratings - while setting up his daughter for the rest of her career.

At this point Ronnie will have made another million, and if he's smart (and he is) Gail will have a bunch of celebrity interviews to pad out her reel; plus four years of radio experience. He'll have ordered Pepper to cut together anything good she does each day into her clip reel (and at what other radio channel can you order staff to help on-air talent get a new job somewhere else?), and when SiriusXM finally knock it on the head he'll retire and Gail will be set for her next job.

It's bad for us listeners, but once you understand that Ronnie's not working for us then his scam looks kind of... admirable.
