I don’t think regular people are going to keep holding up #metoo for that much longer, anyway. There aren’t really any values or axioms within it to keep people in line because of the ambiguity of the majority of claims and what counts as claims (versus the smaller amount of genuine claims), which makes it easily exploitable.
Plus “cancelling” people isn’t practical and it doesn’t really work: the more you tell people not to look at something, the more intrigued they naturally become. And the more you tell people to not listen to X or book X, the more they’re going to want to do that, sooner or later.
Louis CK is funny, and that's a big deal these days. Comedy is fucking DYING at the expense of the PC movement. When people are told by the MSM that someone like Hannah Gadsby is funny and important; they may naturally want to go check her out. But when they take in her material and realize that she isn't all that funny and is more SELF important than OBJECTIVELY important, and let's say they have a forum where they can point this out and unpack it even more: They're roundly accused of being alt-right/incel/nazi person and being part of the problem.
If you criticize Louie publicly: Nothing will happen to you and if anything, you will have an audience that will concur and support you (especially if you're female).
If you criticize Gadsby publicly: You're a part of the problem and need to be investigated (especially if you're male).
So the more you chastise people for not liking the right things and still finding "problematic" people funny: The more they will embrace those "problematic" people, and continue to give them a platform. A standing O at Skankfest, by both men AND WOMEN, is proof of that. You'll only dig yourself deeper if you try to make the whole "Well thats just internalized misogyny" argument stick, with the women who applauded Louie. It's INSANE, and it's completely ignorant of human nature.
IMO that Hans Gatsby fellow isn't bad at all. The bit he does about getting a diggerydoo up the vegemite highway was hilarious. I'm not the sort who judges a guy just because he's pear-shaped.
