Anthony hates himself

I just realized something recently about Ant from his most recent rant about Opie. He is extremely ashamed of being Anthony Cumia. He was saying things like "it's hard to get the stink of O and A off" and condemning the things they used to do... And going back further, when it came to naming his network he changed it to "Compound Media" so his name wouldn't be in it. He's ashamed of his own name, his own past, and the things he did at the height of his career.

Once I fully realized this about Ant's psychology, a bunch of things start clicking into place. The reason he hates Opie so much, the reason he seems allergic to any kind of marketing or promotion to attract new viewers. He doesn't want new viewers.

Maybe this was already super obvious to everyone here. I mean I always knew he had insecurities but it seems he's being more blatant about it these days.

So Nana changed it to CP Media in reference to her habit of watching Child Pornography

Ant doesn’t hate himself, he hates what his life has become. He sees himself as a victim in every instance that has taken him down a notch. If he thought he was wrong as opposed to wronged he would change his behavior.

What exactly does Anthony think he would be doing if he didn't get famous for being a shock jock? Does he think Rotgut would have become as big as Weird Al? Was Gonna Electric Shock OJ going to set the world on fire? Was he going to wow the public with is political acumen about how black people and taxes STINK? What exactly does Anthony think he has to offer besides being the funny guy on a fart and tit show?

Ant totally regrets that night in time's square. Regrets being there, regrets the tweets and is ashamed he got beat up by a mob of the people he considers subhuman. But what hurts him the most is Opie didn't stand with him and continued on without him.

He knows he's woefully out of place as a host. Ant is a born sidekick, not a host. Just look at him on his pathetic show, nervously hugging himself, shying away from all confrontation, anxiously giggling and always relying on ancient pop-culture memes, it's pitiful. He didn't realize at the time that he NEEDS Opie because without him he is lost. Now he knows it.

Idk if he is really that insecure about his name. When it comes to renaming the network, I think he just made one of few smart business decisions so he could open up the network to other shows. "The Bill Tetley Show on the Anthony Cumia Network" doesn't sound or promote good. You can't have two people names in there. it confuses new listeners.

When he mentions the stink, he is just telling the truth. The media stigmatizes anyone who don't follow their narrative. And Ant sure as hell doesn't, nor did he ever, follow that narrative.

And I don't think he markets or promotes to attract new viewers because he is just plain old lazy and Keith is just dumb. I think Ant makes just enough money to keep his life going, and has no ambition to grow his income any further. Don't get me wrong, this is a really dumb business decision, but I honestly do think it comes down to just pure laziness. He knows he can squeak by on just his name for another 5-10 years or so and pull in JUST ENOUGH new listeners through guest appearances on other podcasts. Why put in any extra effort giving away free shows, putting together promo material, or doing live shows to attract new people. I mean, the guy only does a show 2 hours a day 4 days a week. Lazy.
