If you go back and listen you will see the stuff we all got annoyed with Opie about was him continually building the brand.
Howard obsession. He was trying to put them against HS which was an old HS trick. Gain relevance by starting a feud with someone way more relevant than you but a ring as if you're equal.
Opie was all over Twitter and YouTube from the onset. People have got on Opie for being so obsessed with viral videos. But he understood keeping a buzz going.
Always played hardball in negotiations. Later, we'd learn that Ant and the staff hated this. Ant says he'd have taken five year deals. They likely made way more money because of Opie.
Show prep. Meetings. Jim and Ant admit they didn't participate in any of this.
Keeping the conversation moving. People get on Opie for this too. Now we see what you get when you let any of these guys sit on a topic.
Because it worked for him once or twice years ago, and his alcohol pickled brain can only think to revert to "greatest hits" when he's in need to content. This can be demonstrated when he'll start screaming one-liners from 30 year old sitcoms as though they were the freshest thing in peoples minds.

Opie’s marketing skills were crucial to the success of the show.

As someone who grew up on the faggy west coast I only knew of two radio people. Howard and O&A. I'd say they reached a pretty good relevance.

Hasn't Opie just more or less completely ignored Ant for the last few years? Why's nana so totally obsessed with him? Pathetic old fuck.

Because Opie refused to throw money into Keith’s pension (err Compound Media).

Nana was an irrelevant tin knocker before Opie and is irrelevant in the CP Media retirement home after Opie. He needs him.

Opie should put up a cease and desist against Anthony.

It's sad that he's publicly asking what they're doing. He's been hanging out with little gurls way too long

After Opie blocked him he's still stalking him

Did Carl really say this?
And why won't Ant just pick up the fucking phone and ask Opie to go get a beer with him. I wish these two fags would just make up already.
