The guy who told me about this watch actually said Seikos arent a bad beater watch to wear to work/etc. Theyre certainly not nice but they do the job more or less.
What watch should we be wearing? I was looking for a hot take on watches and the O&A sub is one of the oddest specific places I think I would find good recs.
Depends on his budget and how much he cares about watches tbh. I always say go mechanical but most people can't be bothered to set/wind their watch every couple days. But if you're gonna go quartz under $200, i'd say go for the G-Shock GWM5610-1GD or Timex Weekender. Honestly though, there's nothing terribly wrong with the Seiko Solar. It's just incredibly boring, which more than likely compliments whoever that watch belongs to.
Lots of great options in that price range if you go mechanical though. Seiko, Orient, Bulova, and Vostok all have a great variety of pieces.
This is the shit I'm talking about. We're all so quick to scrutinize that when actual core knowledge of something quality is needed it's to be found in between rape jokes
I think hamilton watches would appeal to many on here. A good quality, not flashy, yet nice looking "field"-style watch; can get them around the $500 mark.

Damn. We even have watch autists on the sub. We're really represented well across the entire spectrum.

I really enjoy the details taken from photos they willingly post to the public. Think of wanting your whole life posted online, crazy.

Seikos aren't exactly poser pieces though, he should be ridiculed for being over 30 and having a quartz watch.

I can justify a $5,000 suit. I can’t justify a $5,000 watch.

If you take care of a nice watch it holds its value, or even appreciates.
1 TurningFrogsGay 2019-06-17
That’s a decent argument. First time I’ve heard it.

you’re just gonna wear the suit to a party and someone’s going to burn a hole through it with a smoke.

The fact that Nana has a Seiko is pretty sad to me, since I wear a Seiko dive watch.

Just bought a Hamilton khaki automatic to celebrate starting a business. It isn't much but I like it.
1 RahStarAryan 2019-06-17
I have a solar powered Citizen watch (600 bucks) is that cool enough ?
1 juschippinyababe 2019-06-17
That still looks cheap and fake for $146. Nigger rich personified.
