I'm talking about the top levels of professional gaming. Reaction time is a large factor, which falls off with age. A lot of professional gamers are replaced by younger, better players when they reach their late 20s. Gaming is highly competitive. If a better player emerges, you will be replaced. I'm not sure if any "Scientific" studies have been published on this exact topic, but here's a link with some statistics for popular E-League games. The only reason I mention FPS in the above post is because that's what Nana seems to enjoy the most.
