So a few months back, I was a regular customer at a local coffee shop. After going there a while, I notice a very cute 20-something chick with caramel skin, beautiful almond-shaped brown eyes, nice legs, and a great ass. She notices me as a fellow regular, and smiles at me one day to break the ice. We start talking; over the course of a few weeks we have several good conversations and we both share person stories, interests, etc. etc. She's a private nurse for some rich couple, and she helps take care of their low-functioning aspie son.

I notice that I'm starting to like this chick romantically. Then I remember she told me her family came over from Italy, and by her features I can tell she's Sicilian. I went home that night and realized to my horror that this chick could easily be the mother of a future Joe or Ant.

I know I'm about to get unscientific, but I've been anecdotally studying behavior among people of ethnic groups, and there are patterns that justify stereotypes: Irish-Americans tend to drink heavily and are emotional messes, German-Americans tend to be workhorses, African and Hispanic Americans tend to be more prone to impulsivity (especially regarding violence). No matter how "far from the boat" they seem to be, the stereotypes hold true. Personalities have a genetic component that is passed along ethnic lines. It's not all determined by environment.

So what should we expect of Sicilian-Americans? We all know about the "mafia" stereotype, but look at NY Governor Cuomo. He's Sicilian and, despite his wholly American upbringing and decent education, is corrupt as fuck--he would be a mobster if he weren't in politics. See what I mean?

I haven't been to that coffee shop in 9 weeks, and I'll never go back. I think I may avoid Sicilian women entirely, as a matter of principle. The thought of creating an Ant or a Brother Joe is too terrifying: it would be too much of a pox on humanity.
