Or maybe every cosplaying women is a unique individual with her own personal motivations for dressing up as a character and going to a convention. And some of those motivations (they're a huge fan of the character, watched every episode of the manga, painstakingly recreated the exact outfit) are generally considered more "real" while other motivations (never watched an episode, just dressing up like a slut for the attention or so nerds will donate to your patreon in exchange for her private snapchat) are generally considered more "fake".
